Amigos

I arrived in Charlotte 21 years ago with my life in pieces and hurting from losing the person I loved.

Today, my heart is full and happy to have contributed to the artistic and cultural development of the Queen City with projects including as Con A de Arte, ArtSí, Home Sweet Home, Nuestra Bandera Nuestro País Nuestro Hogar, Flag of Hope, Faces of Diversity, Charlotte Paints the Virgin of Guadalupe, Arte Latino Now, Painting4Diversity, Gil Gallery, Gallery Los Huevos, and Tango Unidos. There are many projects that I created or participated in Charlotte that today live in the memory of many and that makes me proud as an immigrant, and as a Latino, because in Charlotte I found the home that I had lost.

Thank you, Charlotte, and thank you, my Friends.

Now, I want to celebrate 20 years of art and culture here and invite you to help build my album by mentioning a memory you have with Edwin Gil.

Those who participate have the chance to win a work from my next series: Amigos.
